 Solar Power

Of all the types of renewable resources, solar power is probably the most favoured, as it has no moving parts, makes no sound and takes up no space. On top of that, it is quick cheap and easy to build your own panels which puts solar power in reach of everybody. 

Our environment is being attacked on all sides. Deforestation, carbon emissions, global warming and intensive farming to name just a few.  

We need to take action now in order to ensure that the world as we know it is habitable for our children and all future generations. 

The use of fossil fuels has grown to gigantic proportions, especially as China and India are rapidly becoming affluent nations and many individuals now own cars where a decade that would have been unthinkable. On top of that there is a huge upsurge of airline travel and cruise ships. The pressure on oil and gas has caused big increases in price and there is concern the world cannot produce enough to meet demand. 

Wind power is one option, but a wind turbine is very expensive, somewhat unsightly and can make unwanted noise. Also there are moving parts that are going to wear out in time, so there is a maintenance issue. 

For home use, solar power is the preferred option. The panels that make solar power can be built very cheaply by almost anyone who has a mind to try it. There are no moving parts and make no noise.
